Mariella Ienna worked as a lawyer in Sydney Australia for five years, after which she started her own design business with a retail store in Sydney creating organic sculptural installations for events, weddings and interior design projects, again for a period of five years. Many of her designs and three of her Australian homes have featured in prominent Australian design magazines, such as House and Garden, Inside Out and Vogue Living Australia.
She has also published two books on floral designs and sculpture ? Flowers at Home (Murdoch Books Sydney 2004) and In Situ (Images Publishing Melbourne 2010) and has participated in a number of teaching appearances and publicity commitments arising from the publication and promotion of these books - in a diverse array of public and private forums (for example, the Botanic Gardens in Sydney and also, department stores, and floral design schools).
Being Australian but of Sicilian origin, in January 2008 she came to Palermo Sicily where she currently resides. She works as a Freelance Interior Decorator & Garden Designer in the of Studio Walter Angelico (since June 2009) and her current home in Palermo, has been recently published in Vogue Australia January 2010 , the Kartel Catalogue 2010 and various other European and Asian (Elle Thailand January 2000) magazines. This home will also be featured in the prestigious Italian D Magazine (July 2010) published by the Repubblica Newspaper.
